ANTRA
عنترةSelf-healing ballistic armour against missiles, drones, and small-arms fire.
ANTRA (Arabic: عنترة — named after the legendary Arab warrior-poet Antarah ibn Shaddad) is a self-healing ballistic armour panel fabricated from the SATI-1 graphene–ceramic nanocomposite. The panel is 70% lighter than equivalent steel armour while achieving hardness of 9.2–9.5 Hv (Vickers), exceeding the performance of boron carbide (B₄C) ceramic armour at significantly lower areal density.
Key Specifications
| Areal density | ~15 kg/m² (vs. steel ~55 kg/m² for equivalent protection) |
| Hardness | 9.2–9.5 Hv |
| Self-healing crack width | Up to 100 µm |
| Healing time | 15–30 minutes at ambient |
| Operating temperature | −60 °C to +800 °C |
Use Cases
Vehicle armour for MRAPs and APCs, personal body armour inserts, drone-resistant building panels, naval vessel hull protection, blast-resistant infrastructure.
Key Differentiator
Conventional ceramic armour shatters on first impact and must be replaced. ANTRA self-heals micro-cracks between engagements, maintaining multi-hit protection without panel replacement — a critical operational advantage.
